Hotel Kapok Shenzhen Bay Wins AIA Chicago Distinguished Building Award

The Hotel Kapok Shenzhen Bay received a Citation of Merit at AIA Chicago's 60th annual Designight event on October 23.

The 19-story boutique hotel is located just north of Hong Kong and features a unique, diamond-patterned exterior and four multi-story atriums that pinwheel around the core.

One juror commented,“This building has a very dynamic master plan, and the use of the diagonal as a unifying element both horizontally and vertically was very effective.”
