111 South Wacker Wins AIA Chicago 10-Year Award

At AIA Chicago's 60th annual Designight event, held October 23, 111 South Wacker was presented with a 10-Year Citation of Merit.

Completed in 2005, 111 South Wacker is a 53-story office tower that features a highly transparent cylindrical lobby at its base, with several floors of public parking immediately above.

The awards jury commented that placing the curved parking ramp above the lobby as a dynamic ceiling "is a deft move." 

One particular juror noted, "The lobby's strength comes from the contextuality, with a veil of glass around you and traffic suggested overhead."
