Qianhai Horoy Center
Shenzhen, China
This mixed-use complex in the Qianhai district of Shenzhen integrates two Class A office towers, a five-star hotel, a retail center and two serviced apartment buildings to create a dynamic, sustainable live-work-play experience that solidifies Shenzhen’s significance in today’s China. GP is leading the design of the office towers and the hotel.
The landmark for the development, a 62-story, 293-meter office tower, is designed as a simple, elegant structure anchored by four pairs of mega-columns marking the building’s chamfered corners. As the building rises, the corners slope inward, with the tower culminating in a low-slung V shape to define the building top. A textured façade on the tower’s four sides contrasts with the smooth, reflective corner facades, providing a distinguished presence in the skyline.
At 37 stories, the second office tower is designed to complement the landmark tower, featuring two similar chamfered corners and a comparable façade design. The floor plates in both towers offer flexibility to accommodate a variety of tenants. Optimized daylighting and spectacular views ensure a premier office environment.
Operated by Hilton as a Conrad property, the hotel includes 300 guestrooms and features cascading amenity floors and landscaped roof gardens along its western side, oriented to provide views of the adjacent green belt and Qianhai Bay. The guestrooms feature large floor-to-ceiling windows that take advantage of these views, and a variety of sophisticated amenity and dining options define the hotel as a prime destination.
The five-level retail complex connecting the office and residential towers acts as the engine of the development. The programming of the retail center is conceived to provide a new urban hub for Qianhai Bay.
The complex is designed with an emphasis on the outdoor environment, featuring an abundance of landscape, water features and plazas throughout. With the podium levels lushly landscaped, the ground plane is effectively lifted to create a walkable setting with connections to the street level at specific locations.
