Grand Hyatt São Paulo
São Paulo, Brazil
Sited between two skyscrapers in the Marginal Pinheiros business and financial district, the Grand Hyatt São Paulo offers spectacular views of the city and the Tietê River. The five-star hotel maximizes its relatively dense urban site, providing 466 guestrooms, a two-story dining and entertainment complex, a convention facility with 3,000 square meters of meeting space, and a fitness center and spa. The facility also includes a business center and on-site parking for 600 cars.
In its downtown location, the complex caters to international business travelers with three distinct elements: a hotel tower, a conference center and a separate dining facility that also serves residents of São Paulo. The hotel is a crisply sculpted tower of stone, glass and steel that addresses its corporate neighbors and provides a distinct presence on the skyline. Two efficient, double-loaded corridors, which are linked to a central elevator core, provide visual access to landscaped gardens and pools that lend a resort-like quality to the otherwise all-business hotel.
The glass-enclosed lobby is 10 meters high and features granite and native, orange-hued Louro Faia wood. A glass bridge and exposed elevator connect the fitness center and spa to a large outdoor pool. The conference center is housed in a connected yet clearly distinct structure and has two ballrooms and seven meeting rooms that offer natural daylight and private terraces. The exterior details of the restaurant complex mirror those of the other structures; however, its gray-colored stone differentiates it from the yellow hue of the hotel and conference center.
